Originally produced by Willys-Overland from 1948 until 1950, the
Jeepster was developed to fill a gap in the company's product line
for passenger automobiles and boy do we love them!
The 1950 model year featured the VJ-3 Jeepster's first styling
revisions that included a new instrument panel and redesigned front
end featuring a V-shaped grille with horizontal chrome trim. The
chrome trim wraps around the Jeepster and pops nicely against the
Red exterior. Color matched steel wheels and chrome center caps
help to complete the exterior look of the Jeespter.
Red on red can be tricky but this Willys flaunts it as the white
piping on the 70/30 split bench seat helps to create separation as
does the white convertible top. Original gauges appear to be in
place and an auxiliary oil pressure gauge has been added.
The mechanics of the Jeepster are what make it. Powered by the
Lightning 161cu.in. paired to a three-on-the-tree, the floor
starter, and manual steering and brakes all combine to give you the
true feel of rocking a Willys back in the good days!!
