Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this beautiful numbers matching 1969 Corvette Stingray Coupe in fantastic condition with a 4-speed manual transmission and only 54,725 miles. This Corvette looks absolutely amazing in the Cortez Silver (986) over Black Vinyl (ZQ4). This color combination is highly desirable, iconic, and looks great on this Corvette shark body style. Importantly, this is also the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag, which is pictured in this ad.

Besides the correct paint and trim codes, this Corvette is "Numbers Matching" meaning the engine and transmission in the car are the correct and original units that were installed in the car new at the factory at St. Louis in November of 1968. Even very detailed items like the distributor, alternator, expansion tank, and even all of the window glass are date coded and original. The last six digits of the VIN, 707726, are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured in this ad, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured.

We have this car priced to sell and are offering an excellent opportunity to own a very desirable classic Corvette Stingray at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come as the market on C3 "chrome bumper" Corvettes from 1968 to 1972 is absolutely red hot right now and on the rise. Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and other information to get a true sense of how nice this Corvette really is.

As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.

Exterior

The Cortez Silver (986) exterior is in excellent driver condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss, smooth finish, and a nice shine. The rally wheels and center caps are in great condition with a brilliant finish and no curb rash. Please note that this Stingray has the correct and original 4-clip style beauty rings, not the cheaper foreign made replacements. The raised white letter tires are literally brand new with less than 10 miles on them and correctly sized 225/70R15. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally exclude from the photos. There are some tiny blemishes around car that were too faint to show up in pictures, but nothing else that is really noticeable from about five feet away. As one can see in the many photos of the underside this car is very clean underneath. The frame is solid with no rust around the "key hole" area in front of the rear tire, which is the most notorious spot for rust on a C3 Corvette. We have included specific photos of the areas most prone to rust to show how nice car looks.

Window Date Codes

Please note that ALL of the glass on this Corvette, both "Astro Ventilation" door windows, the rear window, and even the windshield are all date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of November 13, 1968 (D13). There is a crack in the windshield and we considered replacing it, but we wanted to maintain the integrity of the car by keeping all the glass original. Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage.

Interior

The Black (ZQ4) interior of the Corvette is in fantastic condition. The gauge faces are clean and crisp and the lenses are crystal clear. The door panels are in great condition, there are no cracks in the typical spot where the driver's elbow sits. The carpet is also excellent shape with no stains, holes, or rips. This includes the rear carpet, which is often neglected. The seats just as nice in person as they do in the photos. There are some spots of wear on the passenger seat. The seat is not overly worn in the typical are on the bolster where the driver gets in and out. Please note that these appear to be the original seats and skins, not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. The original radio works and gets good reception. Most importantly the dash has never been cut or modified for an aftermarket installation. The dash and console are in great shape with no cracks, fading, or sun damage. This Corvette has never been smoked in; there are no burns marks and no aroma of cigarettes.

Corvette interiors from this era are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this interior is a huge testament to the meticulous care and attention this car has received throughout its life and another great verification of the low original mileage.

Mechanical

This Corvette seems to be in good mechanical condition. The original numbers matching engine starts up right away every time, runs well and idles smooth. It drives great and feels nice on the road and at highway speeds. In the video in this ad one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph, shifting through all the gears, braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note that there are no vibrations and the car performs quite well overall. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The shifter is tight, does not pop out of gear, and the clutch feels good. The car runs cool and does not overheat. There is no blue smoke when starting the car. Also, the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed; the upper ignition shielding is still in place.

The radio works as do all the exterior lights, dash lights, interior lights, horn, wipers, and indicators. The blower for the heater works on all speeds. The vacuum system for the headlights and wiper door works properly. The headlights and wiper door go up quickly and with no effort or binding the mechanisms. Please note that both the headlights and wiper door work from the switches on the dash, and their respective overrides switches under the column. The entire operation of the vacuum system can be viewed in the video. All of the gauges work with the obvious exception of the clock. There is an tick that sounds like a small exhaust leak and there is a noise audible with wheel speed. Most of the fiber optics work. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with the 4-speed transmission and the T-Tops out on a beautiful day.

A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system, we consistently receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all of the exterior lights, headlights, indicators, tail lights, etc., are working and to make the driver aware of a burned-out bulb. Each lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable the runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small indicators on the console and each has its own finer optic cable. When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic cable and illum...for more information please contact the seller.
