Cincy Classic Cars is proud to share this stunning 1979 Pontiac TA which has been fully rotisserie restored over a two year period and finished in June of 2023.  This TA has been driven around 3500 miles since the restoration and shows extremely well.  Its in show condition and comes in the beautiful one year only color of Atlantis Blue.  This fabulous TA was born with a Pontiac 301 and factory 4 speed transmission but was upgraded to a period correct W72 Pontiac 400 engine featuring the 1979 only "PWH" block stamp.  This TA features a fantastic show quality paint job with new decals completed in 2023, a fully restored correct Black deluxe hobnail cloth interior, a Pontiac 400 engine, and the factory build sheet.  Numerous restoration photos are included in the gallery documenting this incredible build.  This TA is finished in the desirable color combination of Atlantis Blue exterior over Black deluxe interior.  This is the factory color scheme as verified on the included build sheet and trim tag.  These special low production 4 Speed Trans Am's are some of the most sought after collectible TA's on the market.  They continue to increase in value and desirability.  This TA was taken apart and fully restored between 2021-2023.  The body was placed on a rotisserie and restored to a show quality level and looks and drives like new.

Exterior

The Atlantis Blue exterior was restored around 2.5 years ago to a show quality level and looks amazing.  This car was fully disassembled and the body was placed on a rotisserie and fully restored.  The car was taken apart and the engine and transmission were removed during the restoration.  Photos of this restoration are in the gallery and document the build.  This Trans Am features a terrific repaint in factory Atlantis Blue with new decals.  The paint is in show quality condition and has a very nice gloss and excellent shine.  There are no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in excellent shape.  There is no bubbling paint or cracked paint anywhere on this TA.  The underside has been fully detailed and is in show condition as well.  The underneath of this TA looks just as good as the top.  Great attention to detail was shown with no money spared restoring this car and the underside of this TA.  New bumper grills and nose emblem were added.  The tires are brand new and were just installed and are correctly sized 225/70/15 and the 8" WS6 snowflake wheels were restored with new center caps and lug nuts.  All weather stripping and window sweeps were replaced and are like new.  Trunk is solid and clean with the original spare tire and jack with an original style correct trunk mat.

Interior

The Black deluxe interior of this Trans Am is in excellent restored condition.  The seat covers were replaced with new Legendary Hobnail and have no wear, no rips, or seam splits.  These brand new seat covers were just installed.  The carpet was replaced as well and is like new with no stains, rips, or holes.  The dash was removed and restored and is in excellent condition with no cracks, no warping, and no fading.  Most importantly this is the original dash, not a dash cap or the like.  The dash bezel was restored by Randy Combs and truly makes the interior.  The stock style am/fm stereo still works and sounds good and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo.  The Legendary door panels are new and were replaced and are in like new condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact.  The headliner was replaced and the rear package tray was replaced as well and hosts newer speakers.  All interior and exterior lights and gauges work.  The dash lights were upgraded to LED lights.  The stereo, horn, and blower motor all work.  This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.  This is a factory NON AC TA which really cleans up the engine bay and adds to horsepower.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in excellent mechanical condition and has been driven around 3500 miles since the restoration was completed in 2023.  The original Pontiac 301 engine was replaced with a 1979 correct Pontiac W72 400 engine which was rebuilt and runs great.  The carb. was rebuilt and a new distributor was added.  New spark plugs and wires were added.  A new aluminum cold case radiator was added and a new starter was added.  The suspension was fully restored with new leaf springs and new body mounts and new shocks.  Brakes were fully restored with new master cylinder and booster with new calipers and hoses and pads.  A new gas tank was added along with a new fuel pump and all new fuel lines.  The exhaust was replaced with an upgraded Pypes muffler which gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds.  We have driven this car several times and it always performs well, it rides well, and is always a joy to drive.  The smiles, thumbs up, and attention you get driving this car is addictive.  In the video one can observe this car running and driving and the car handles and performs well.  There is no smoke when starting or driving the car.  It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good.  The brakes do not pull and stop very well and were fully serviced.  Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos.  Not many 1979 Trans Am's are restored to this show quality level and not many come in this terrific color combination.
