Vehicle Description
1971 Volkswagen Deluxe 23 window with optional ragtop and third
seat. The Volkswagen Kombi van (1950-1967) started a vehicle
revolution that has lasted more than half a century; it influenced
multiple generations. It's been said the Volkswagen Kombi van or
bus started the minivan movement. To be sure, the VW Kombi has had
a long run of popularity worldwide -- a popularity that's now
seeing a resurgence. Recent results from Barrett-Jackson Auctions
have seen early-1960s 23-window VW Kombi vans reaching six figures,
going as high as $291,000. This one is a very nice example and
fully restored inside and out with the bottom side paint same color
as the topside rotisserie restoration. This Highly sought after 23
window version was created in Brasil and has the accessory front
and rear wooden roof rack and side ladder, Safari front fold out
windshields, sliding door windows, locking gas door, front shoulder
belts, full ragtop sunroof, bumper overriders, dash cup holder,
dual outside color keyed mirrors, fire extinguisher, chrome
passenger grab handle, curtains for side windows, chrome inner
window guards, and third seat. This unit has a 120 kilometer
speedometer only showing 11592 kilometers (not actual). Fast is not
a term used for this bus but it has a smooth running 1600 motor, 4
speed manual transaxle, Dunlop radial tires on red steel wheels
with trim rings and VW hubcaps, and no radio. The Sealing Wax Red
and Ivory paint with painted bumpers with over riders is very nice
and the interior with cream seats with white piping and red and
cream side panels, rear red Daytona weave carpeting is beautiful.
