Vehicle Description
1954 MG TF For Sale- Autumn Red With Biscuit Interior, Nicely
Restored LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1954 MG TF
Following WWII, the first British sports car to capture American
hearts was the MG TC, which featured the overhead valve XPAG engine
first developed for the practically stillborn prewar TB. The TC's
success inspired the TD, which debuted in 1949 specifically for the
U.S. market with improved handling and, for the first time,
left-hand drive. The TF, which followed in late 1953, represented a
major stylistic evolution with its integrated headlamps, new
bonnet, sloping hoodline and raked radiator grille. While the TF
faced stiff criticism from some, America's motoring press welcomed
it warmly. In its December 1954 issue, Road & Track stated, "after
last year's test we asked if the TF was really that good. It is,
and more. Even though the MG is the lowest priced sports car on the
market, it is the accepted standard of comparison." Today, the TF
has proven to be perhaps the most desirable of the T-Series cars,
as it clearly marked the end of an era This example offered here
has been nicely restored in 2014 with less than 700 miles since
completion. It has been painted in gorgeous Autumn Red complemented
by beautiful chrome grill and bumpers. The biscuit leather bucket
seat interior, along with the detailed dashboard and steering wheel
are in excellent restored condition. Under the hood is the XPAG
1250cc engine backed by a four-speed manual transmission which has
been rebuilt and detailed. Completing the look, are a set of wire
wheels with knock off hubs that were painted the factory correct
style silver with Cinturato P3 Pirelli tires. The TF's are the
last, best, and often deemed the most collectible of the T-Series
MG's. As well as being collectible, they are also great to drive
and beg to be used on the open road! *Titled As A 1955 Model
