Vehicle Description
1985 Shelby Cobra (Kellison Stallion) Titled as 1985 Kellison
Stallion completely restored. Shelby Cobra restored Kellison
Stallion! Full frame car not a kit! 6" wider and 6" longer than a
cobra. I have the convertible top etc and some extra original
parts. Registered in California in 1985 but never driven. She's a
beauty. Added New Pioneer AVC8500 CarPlay Navigation Radio System.
I had to use 1980 Ford because eBay has no knowledge of a Kellison
Stallion and the California VIN wouldn't go thru so I had to change
year to 1980 Ford. This is titled as 1985 Kellison Stallion. Much
better car than the Shelby Kit Cars, more sturdy and Full Frame,
Bigger wheel well for bigger tires...Very Solid Body and Very well
framed for strength, it's the Cadillac of Cobras. This car was
basically new and had been left out in the elements. During
restoration discovered motor and all unexposed components were like
new. Also have the Cobra emblems for hood & trunk. This is the most
solid well built cobra ever built. Even has Steel framework in the
doors to protect passengers from side impact. Full steel Frame that
would be fit for an F250 truck. Check the picture of the frame, but
mine is black not red... Jim Kellison shut down his company in
1970, but soon missed the car business. In 1976, he introduced his
own version of the Cobra replica, built by his new company, Eagle
American Racing (later Red Stallion Ltd. ). The Stallion was longer
and wider than an original Cobra, and had a very sturdy frame to
take the power and weight of a big 429ci Ford engine. Only a very
few had the 351 Cleveland installed. The front suspension was based
on Ford parts, as was the 9-inch Ford live axle in back. There were
three brake options, with one being racing discs all around. The
body was subtly massaged, with a 'droop' nose, egg-crate grille,
and doorbars for more protection. They were sold in kit and turnkey
form, with new or rebuilt parts. Eagle built a reported 117 before
Kellison sold out.
