Buyavette is pleased to present one of the rarest and most
recognizable cars ever built with this BODY-OFF RESTORED 1955
Corvette Convertible! Unlike the 1954 Corvette, of which 3,640 were
produced, just 700 Corvettes were built for 1955, with obviously
far fewer left today. While the '55 Corvettes look nearly identical
to their predecessors from the outside, there's one big difference,
and that's under the hood, as 1955 was the first year for a
Corvette to feature a V8 engine. Originally assembled on September
7, 1955, this 1955 Corvette Convertible is in nice condition
overall, and has had the SAME OWNER SINCE 1976. This owner spent
quite a bit of time and money researching how to properly restore
this car, and tons of research photos, diagrams, and a few books
will accompany this Vette to its new owner. This '55 shows good-vg
paint, with a great shine. Convertible top frame is not currently
installed, and is likely going to need some restoration work before
the new convertible top (also included) can be installed onto it.
Original side plexiglass windows (not installed) are included as
well. Exterior chrome and stainless are vg, as are the taillights
and weatherstripping. Correct T3 headlights are also in place.
Steel wheels are vg, and correct style hubcaps are vg-exc.
Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whitewall bias-ply tires show an
average of 10/32nds tread depth remaining. The interior of this
1955 Corvette Convertible shows vg seats, door panels, steering
wheel, and gauges, and a good condition dash pad. Floor covering is
good-vg, and a correct appearing AM radio is in place. The
Restoration Engine in this car shows correct casting number
3703524, and original casting date July 8, 1955. Correct air
cleaner, ignition shielding, intake manifold, braided spark plug
wires, chrome valve covers, radiator hoses and hose clamps, and
generator are all in place, and the frame is clean, solid, and
rust-free. Also included with this car will be a large box of spare
parts, spare radio, and an old title for this car dated 1967. This
is an extremely rare car, and a great one to consider for anyone
