Vehicle Description
1961 CHEVROLET CORVAIR GREENBRIER C-754 This 1961 Chevrolet Corvair
Greenbrier is a RARE EIGHT-DOOR passenger van which was owned by a
dairy farmer in Kuna, Idaho, who had reportedly owned it since 1968
before parking it a decade later. The last owner completed a
three-year refurbishment included a repaint in turquoise and white,
installation of new glass, suspension and steering work, and an
overhaul of its rear-mounted 2,375cc flat-six. The van features a
gray fabric interior with three rows of bench seats as well as a
four-speed manual transaxle and Corvette wheel covers. The body has
been repainted in Tampico Turquoise with a Cameo White center
section, grille, and bumpers. A new windshield and window seals
were fitted, and round mirrors are mounted to both front doors. The
van features ambulance-style doors in the rear as well as on both
the sides for access to the rear seats. Steel wheels are painted to
match the body, fitted with full-face hubcaps from a period
Corvette, and wrapped with Hankook whitewall tires. A spare is
mounted in the cargo area. The interior features seating for up to
nine passengers on three bench seats upholstered in factory-style
gray vinyl and checkered cloth. Black rubber mats protect the
green-painted floors, and the engine is located under the rear
cargo area. A stock steering wheel rests in front of a steel dash.
The five-digit odometer was replaced to reflect 0 miles during the
restoration and reportedly now shows approximately 363 miles, with
actual chassis mileage unknown. A cassette player with an auxiliary
input is mounted below the dash, and a lighter and passenger-side
sun visor were installed during the refurbishment. The 2,375cc
flat-six has new piston rings, rod bearings, lifters, and seals as
well as rebuilt carburetors. Power is sent through a floor-shifted
four-speed manual transmission, and a new flywheel, throwout
bearing, pressure plate, and clutch were also installed. The
starter, generator, and fuel pump have also been replaced. The
brake linings, wheel bearings, and shocks were replaced, as well as
the addition of a rear sway bar. The rear axle ratio has been
changed from 3.89:1 to 3.55:1. ***If you are viewing this on
