and produced from 1963 through 1971. It replaced both the 300 SL (W
198) and the 190 SL (W 121 BII). Of the 48,912 W 113 SLs produced,
19,440 were sold in the US.The W 113 SL was developed under the
auspices of Mercedes-Benz Technical Director Fritz Nallinger, Chief
Engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut and Head of Styling Friedrich Geiger. The
lead designers were Paul Bracq and B?la Bar?nyi, who created its
patented, slightly concave hardtop, which inspired the 'Pagoda'
nickname.Introducing our beautifully overhauled 1968 Mercedes 280
SL Pagoda. Finished in 172 Anthracite Grey Metallic paint and with
a new spec fabric roof. She was shipped over from Alabama in the
United States to Europe in 2018 where she was acquired by her last
owner. He spent almost two years giving her a cosmetic overhaul.
She was completely stripped of all of her parts and paint and was
refinished in the stunning Anthracite Grey from Mercedes. To give
her the classic and stylish look, she was fitted with a red soft
top which fits great.Inside you will find a completely retrimmed
red leather interior. With the roof down, the red really pops in
the sun, making her an even better place to spend time in. To enjoy
some music on your next roadtrip, an original Becker Europa radio
is installed in the dashboard.Power comes from the correct and
matching numbers M130 engine with Bosch mechanical injection.
Bulletproof and very reliable, especially with the revised cylinder
head with uprated valve seats. This six in-line engine with 2778 cc
produces 170 bhp and is attached to a smooth shifting 4 speed
automatic transmission with floor-change. Disc brakes on all four
wheels and power steering. During the overhaul, all of the seals
were changed and the health of the gearbox was determined to be
excellent.She is a rust free example and comes with its original
hard top which has not been restored. This Pagoda runs and drives
great and is ready for many more fun miles. With 2 USB sticks full
