1978 F-150 Ranger XLT 4-WD short-bed has had a careful restoration
(2023) along with numerous mechanical upgrades. All work was
professionally done and documentation with receipts is
provided.
The exterior was refinished in custom Emerald Green and is in very
good condition. The owner has installed Rough Country lighted
retracting 'R/C E-Board' electric side steps and the bed has a
spray-in liner for protection. A fold-out Bed Extender has been
fitted along with a 2" hitch receiver with light connection.
Exterior accents include chrome bumpers, new XLT stainless trim,
dual chrome mirrors and new front facia components. Polished
22"x12" Fuel alloys mount Toyo R/T Open Country all-terrain
radials. The interior of this truck is outstanding. It was
carefully reupholstered in green/gray vinyl with a matching
headliner and the dash contains a full complement of Dakota Digital
HDX gauges with color sequencing via a phone app. Other features
include fully-functional heat-A/C, tinted windows, faux burlwood
accents and a Flaming River tilt column with Spark Industries
billet wheel. The owner has also added a custom center console,
'Old School' floor mats and custom door panels/kick panels.

Based on owner input, the detailed engine compartment houses a
400ci 335 Series Ford V8. This high-torque engine was derived from
the 'Cleveland design' and was used in full-sized Ford
pick-ups/Broncos from 1977-1982. It is equipped with Sniper EFI,
K&N air intake system, roller cam/rockers and tube headers to a
custom exhaust. Other new engine components include:
• Edelbrock intake
• Distributor and ignition components
• Water pump
• Alternator
• Aluminum radiator
• Overflow can
• Starter
• Optima battery
• A/C compressor
• All fuel system components including fuel tank
The engine is backed by a C-6 three-speed automatic. The clean
chassis has been restored with new suspension components, power
steering and rebuilt differential units. There is a new manual
transfer case and new Warn manual front hubs. A solid rear axle is
equipped with a 31-spline 9" TruTrac differential. Final gearing is
4.10:1 and Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes utilize 14" slotted
rotors, a new dual master cylinder and new booster. Suspension
configuration is front coils with rear leaves and the F-150 has
been the beneficiary of an well designed suspension upgrade that
includes a serious lift kit and Fox Performance shocks all around.
This is a handsome, dependable ride that any Blue Oval fan will
